Overview

If you would like to try overlocking, but you have never used an overlocker before, or you have bought an overlocker and not taken it out of the box, then this is for you.

Build your confidence in using your overlocker (or ours). This class is suitable for complete beginners or those who are scared of their overlocker.

The focus will be on setting up the overlocker including threading and adjusting tension/differential feed for different fabrics. Learn how to sew around corners, curved edges and hems. Learn also how to maintain your machine by cleaning, replacing needles and adjusting the blade.

During this session, you will also make a simple long sleeved t-shirt in the size of your choice. The size range of our paterns is from 30 inch to 50 inch chest.

*if you are bringing your own overlocker you will also need to bring with you your manual and 4 different coloured spools.

There will be plenty of help and guidance available every step of the way.


What's included

All equipment, fabric and notions are included, you will just need to bring your own fabric for making the t-shirt. Suitable fabrics; jersey knit. Please contact us for details regarding how much fabric you need to bring (this varies according to body size). You are welcome to bring your own overlocker for optimal learning or use ours. There will be plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits to keep you going.
